Copyworks has provided freelance services for advertising agencies, institutions, and non-profit organizations in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri for over 15 years. Our efforts have included ad copy, script writing and proofing, brochures, blogs, emails, and articles. We have offered our services for proofreading one paragraph or an entire novel. We have edited business e-books and annual reports. Our experience is broad, and we are ready to work on your project today.
What sort of stuff do you write or edit?
Almost everything. One of the joys of journalism is the broad scope of information you can cover. We will write about almost anything including sports, business, medicine, education, religion, and politics. We won't handle anything erotic or pornographic, and we reserve the right to decline work whose focus is particularly dark or gruesome. We're not the Zombie editors.
Can you help me with my Twitter account?
Yes. There are a few things we can do to help with your Twitter account. We can draft up to 100 messages to be scheduled on your Twitter account. However, we do not provide daily management of your social media. We simply get you set up to deliver the pre-written messages. Any "live" tweets are all yours. We have plenty to do without being you. If you want to write your own messages, we can proofread them for you prior to scheduled posting.
What's the difference between editing and proofreading?
Proofreading is simpler. It simply means that we will find all your misspelled words, punctuation mistakes, problems with subject-verb agreement, etc. If a section of your writing is confusing, but grammatically correct, a proofreader will leave it alone. An editor will suggest a better way to express your ideas so they are less confusing. Editing involves both proofreading and analysis of style, format, flow, structure, etc.
If you love the way your copy is written and just don't want to have any glaring errors, choose proofreading. If you aren't sure, choose editing.
